The Minnesota Student Educational Loan Fund (SELF) is a long-term, low-interest student loan program created to help students and families finance higher education. 

Administered by the Minnesota Office of Higher Education, a state agency, the SELF Loan offers low-cost fixed and variable rate options often lower than private or even some federal loans. Unlike most private loans, SELF Loan rates are not based on credit scores and are the same for every borrower. You'll know your interest rate before you apply, making it a transparent and predictable option to help bridge the financial gap if other financial aid sources do not cover it all.
